Sunday, 19th December 1915 aged 35 - He is buried in Bard Cottage Cemetery,
Ieper (Ypres), West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. Grave reference: I. E. 1. His mother
was Mary Creevey and his wife was Margaret Creevey of 4 Watson's Court, Clarence
Street, Halifax.

December 1914, aged 28. He was the husband of Annie Kerr Creevey of 7 Dean
Street, Stockbridge, Edinburgh, Scotland. He is buried in Bethune Town Cemetery,
Pas de Calais, France. Grave reference: III. A. 65.

2904, 2nd Battalion, Manchester Regiment - William died on Sunday, 6th August
1916 aged 42. According to the War Graves records he was 38 but he appeared on
the 1881Census aged 7 and was therefore born c1874. He is buried in Cambrin Churchyard Extension, Pas de Calais,
France. Grave reference: P. 35. His parents were Patrick and Bridget Creevey of
Cheetwood, Cheetham, Manchester and he had two older sisters, Rose and
Bridget and two younger brothers, James and William

Seaman D/SSX 23526, H.M.S. Gould, Royal Navy - Albert died on Wednesday, 1st
March 1944 aged 25 - In February 1944, HMS Gould together with HMS Affleck and
HMS Gore, was on escort duty in mid Atlantic. On 25th February they sunk the
German U-boat U-91 but five days later, north of the Azores (west of Portugal),
HMS Gould was torpedoed and sunk by U-358 under the command of Kptlt. Rolf Manke.
Depth charges from the three British ships sunk U-358 in the same engagement. H.M.S.
Gould was an American built Evarts Class frigate called the Lovering which was
launched in 1943 and sent to Britain under the lend lease arrangement in
September 1943. U-358 was commissioned in August 1942 and undertook six patrols
sinking five ships for a total of 18,945 tons. Albert is commemorated on the Plymouth Naval Memorial, Devon,
England, Panel 85, Column 2. The memorial commemorates members of the Royal Navy
from both World Wars who have no known grave. Albert's birth was registered in
West Derby, Liverpool in June 1918 and he married in Liverpool in 1941 (wife's
name Thornton). He had two sons. |

Douglas (b 1922 d 1944) |

T/10632519, 463 Water Tank Company, Royal Army Service Corps - Douglas died on
Thursday, 2nd March 1944 aged 21. He is commemorated on the Brookwood Memorial,
Surrey, England, Panel 16 Column 2.
The memorial commemorates those land forces
who, during the Second World War either, died at sea, in the 1940 Norwegian
campaign, were members of raiding parties who set out from the UK or were
special agents or workers with Allied underground movements and who have no
known grave. Douglas' family was from the Ipswich area.

1330741, Air Bomber, 12 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve based at RAF
Wickenby, Lincolnshire.
Just before midnight on Tuesday 25th May
1943, 22 Lancasters of 12 Squadron commenced take off from Wickenby for
a bombing mission to Dusseldorf being part of a large force of over 750
aircraft. Douglas Creevy was the bomb aimer for Lancaster ED967 (code
letters PH-F) which crashed in the early hours of Wednesday 26th May at
Ratingen on the outskirts of Dusseldorf. The bomber is believed to have
been brought down by German flak and all
seven crew members were lost. Douglas was 22
years old. He is buried in the Reichswald Forest War Cemetery in Germany. Grave reference: 5. D. 13.
His parents were William and Katie
Creevy of Peterborough, Northamptonshire and he lived at 292 Dogsthorpe Road,
Peterborough.

Gun Corps (Infantry) - George died on Friday, 3rd August 1917. He is
commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Ieper. West-Vlaanderen, Belgium
- Panel 56 - The Menin Gate is one of the four memorials to the missing in
Belgian Flanders.

February 1915. He is buried in Cite Bonjean Military Cemetery, Armentieres, Nord,
France. Grave reference: IX. B. 73.

S.S. "Innisfallen" (Cork), Mercantile Marine - Samuel died on
Thursday, 23rd May 1918 aged 32 when the "Innisfallen" (1896) was sunk
by a German U-boat. He is commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial,
London where names are arranged alphabetically under their ships. The memorial
commemorates men of the Merchant Navy and Fishing Fleets who died in both World
Wars and have no known grave.
Samuel was born in Liverpool, his parents
being Thomas and Jane Creevy. At 16 he was a labourer in an Oil Cake
Mill. His
wife was Elizabeth Creevy (nee Brown) of 5 Everton View, Everton Terrace,
Liverpool.

(London), Merchant Navy - Thomas died on Tuesday, 31st March 1942 aged 23. He is
