Born in the UK, the youngest of three brothers, I initially lived in Essex where most of my family were located. My grandparents and earlier ancestors however, were based in London, principally Westminster, Hackney and Tottenham.

Since my marriage to Allie, my home has been in Kent where she lived all her life. Allie died in 1998 and I decided to leave my career in the finance industry in London.

I now devote time to voluntary work for Demelza House Children's Hospice, to travelling and of course, to family history. I have two sons, Matthew and Stephen.
